The short version: The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 26 goes on sale November 1 at $155. It is a careful update of the best-known stability shoe in running stores: same GuideRails support, same 10 mm drop and same stack height, with a reworked DNA Loft v3 midsole, a new flat-knit tongue and a heel loop. Meanwhile, Brooks has the GTS 25 marked down to $124.95. If your current Adrenalines are worn out and you don’t need the newest one, the 25 at about $30 off is the value pick. If you want the latest foam and a fresh size run, preorder the 26.

What’s new in the GTS 26
Brooks calls the Adrenaline its “most trusted support shoe,” and the GTS 26 doesn’t gamble with that. The GuideRails system, which works like bumpers on either side of the heel to limit excess side-to-side movement rather than pushing the arch up like an old-school medial post, carries over unchanged. So do the stack heights and the 10 mm drop.
- Midsole: still nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3, but Road Runner Sports says Brooks reengineered it for a “more dynamic” ride, with a better balance of softness and response.
- Tongue and collar: a new flat-knit tongue with some stretch, and a refreshed knit collar with a pull-on heel loop.
- Upper: a redesigned engineered air mesh. Brooks says it helps your foot stay cool, which matters for anyone still logging miles in a Texas October.
- Weight: a hair heavier per Road Runner Sports’s listing, 0.2 oz in men’s and 0.1 oz in women’s. You won’t feel that.
Road Runner Sports’s own summary is that the 26 is a modest update, not a big departure from the 25. That’s the point of the Adrenaline: runners who like it want the next pair to feel the same.

Which one should you buy?
Buy the GTS 25 now if your current pair is past 300 to 500 miles and you have a race on the calendar. Brooks had several 25 colorways at $124.95 on Oct. 11, and the support and fit are nearly identical. With a Thanksgiving turkey trot or a December half coming up, there’s no reason to wait three weeks to pay $30 more. The catch: sale sizes thin out fast once the new model lands, especially in wide widths.
Preorder the GTS 26 if you want the newest foam, you wear a hard-to-find size or width, or you’re buying your first stability shoe at full price anyway. Brooks offers 90-day free returns on shoes bought from its site, which gives you room to test it.
Look elsewhere if you want a lighter stability trainer. The Hoka Arahi 9 is also $155 and lists at 10.0 oz with an 8 mm drop. If you don’t overpronate, a neutral daily trainer such as the On Cloudsurfer 3 or Mizuno Sky Prime may suit you better.
Try them on in Texas
Stability shoes are worth fitting in person, since width and heel feel vary more than the spec sheet shows. Our Texas running store directory lists specialty shops by city, and Brooks’s own store locator shows which ones stock the Adrenaline. If you’re building toward the Dallas Marathon in December or a winter half, get the new pair in a few weeks before race day so you can put 30 to 50 easy miles on it first. For the full race list, see marathons in Texas and half marathons in Texas.
