Thanksgiving is the busiest morning. Frisco, Celina, Plano and Sachse High School all hold turkey trots on November 26, and McKinney’s Believe! 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run through historic downtown follows on November 28. Several step their prices up as the day nears, and the Plano Turkey Trot switches to a higher extended online price after November 22.
Club races are the bargain. The Plano Pacers’ Turkey Runoff (5K and 15K) and Holiday Hustle (3K and 8K) are club races at Windhaven Meadows Park; RunSignup lists guest entry at $15, and members with chips simply show up.
For a half or full, plan ahead. The New Years Double in Allen is the only listing here with a half or full marathon this winter. For more, see our Dallas half marathons and Dallas 10K races.
Respect the heat outside winter. From late spring to early fall, run at sunrise, drink before you are thirsty and run by effort rather than pace. Stop and cool down for heavy sweating, weakness or clammy skin; call 911 for confusion or slurred speech. Our zone 2 guide covers training through it.
November 2026 is the busiest month on the current Plano, Frisco & McKinney calendar, with 14 races.
