Las Colinas has a race series. The Irving Marathon Running Series stages its races at Toyota Music Factory: the Irving Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving, the Irving Frost on December 19, Love on the Run on February 13, the Irving Marathon on March 20–21 and the Fiesta de Mayo Half on May 15. Courses stay in Las Colinas and along Lake Carolyn, every race benefits the Irving Schools Foundation, and prices rise every few weeks up to race week, so register early. Every other half nearby is on our Dallas half marathons page.
Lake Grapevine hosts the long ones. The Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers club’s Bold in the Cold runs the C. Shane Wilbanks Trail along the lake, and Perpetual Motion loops a paved 800-meter course at Silver Lake Marina for up to 24 hours. Keller’s road races mostly start at Bear Creek Park or Keller Town Hall on Bear Creek Pkwy, from the Thanksgiving trot to the Santa Scurry and St Pat’s 5K & 10K.
Not every listing is a road race. Most Southlake listings, and the Metroplex Mile in Colleyville on November 14, are evening track meets for school-age runners, who enter unattached and without school uniforms. Check the event list before you register.
Respect the heat outside winter. From late spring to early fall, run at sunrise, drink before you are thirsty and run by effort rather than pace. Stop and cool down for heavy sweating, weakness or clammy skin; call 911 for confusion or slurred speech. Our zone 2 guide covers training through it.
November 2026 is the busiest month on the current Arlington, Irving & the Mid-Cities calendar, with 10 races.
