Salado VFW Auxiliary 12235 Turkey Trot Fun Run

TURKEY TROT FUN RUN/WALK!

Bring the family (both humans & K-9s!) to Liberty Park in Belton, Texas on November 21, 2026 & run or walk our First Annual Turkey Trot Fun Run! The course will begin at the Western Pavilion and will take you along the scenic Nolan Creek Hike & Bike Trails. (The Western Pavilion is located next to the Belton Christian Youth Center & visible from the I-35 southbound frontage road.)

This is also a youth-centered community event. We are promoting and supporting our talented youth as they volunteer in multiple capacities to help make this a fun day! We're even holding a T-shirt Design Contest! The front of the race t-shirt will feature the winning original design created by one of our very talented local high school art students!

Registration Fees

1 Sept - 4 Oct: Early Bird $35

5 Oct - 20 Nov: $40

Day of Race: $45

T-shirts are guaranteed for all registrations received by 30 October 2026.

T-shirts and race materials will be available for pick-up on November 14th, the Saturday prior to race day, at locations to be announced. Race packets will also be available for pick-up starting at 8:00 AM on race day at the Western Pavilion.

Race day registration will end at 8:45 AM.

Race Day

Check-in will begin at 8:00 AM at the Western Pavilion - Liberty Park in Belton, Texas.

The race will begin at 9:00 AM.

Medal Categories

Medals will be given to the top 3 male & female in each category:

•Adults 19-39 •Adults 40-59 •Adults 60+ •High School •Middle School •Elementary School

We will also have a SPECIAL CATEGORY of Human/K-9 Team and will award the top 3 placements.

*Competing K-9s MUST be leashed & walk/run the event. Use of a pet stroller or carrier will disqualify the team.

For safety purposes, ALL canines attending the event MUST be leashed, or in a pet stroller or carrier.

Raffles & Canned Food Drive Event

We will be holding several raffles at the event, and tickets will be available on race day. Winners will be drawn at 12:30 PM. Must be present to win!

Our Canned Food Drive will benefit Heart & Hands Ministries for the holiday season. You will receive 1 FREE Raffle Ticket for every 2 canned goods donated.

Proceeds

All proceeds from this fun run will go to the Salado VFW Auxiliary/VFW Post 12235 to fund programs which support veterans and active-duty members, their families, and our community.
